FAQs

Here are some of our commonly asked questions:

Getting started.

Is there a Nectar app?

There is no native iOS or Android app. Nectar runs in your browser on desktop and mobile. Visit nectar.ai to get started.

You can also add it to your phone’s home screen. Steps are in Welcome to Nectar AI.

I can't log in.

Refresh the page and check that your login details are complete. If you use a VPN, try temporarily disconnecting it.

For a black screen in Brave on mobile, try Chrome or Safari.

If you clear cookies for nectar.ai, you will need to sign in again. More help is in Troubleshooting and Getting Help.

How do I turn NSFW on or off?

Use the NSFW toggle on Discover to adjust the content shown there.

Chatting

Which chat model should I use?

A chat model is the AI option that writes your companion’s replies. Open Chat Settings → Models to compare the available choices.

Use the ratings as a guide. Results vary, so try the same message with different models to find a style you like. Check the displayed price before switching.

More in Chat Models.

Why does my companion forget things?

Your companion uses a limited amount of recent conversation text, called its context. Earlier details can fall outside that context as the chat grows.

Use Chat Settings → Memory to save key facts. You can mark up to 10 memories as important.

A fresh conversation does not carry memories from the earlier chat. Add the details you want to use again. More in Memory.

My companion's reply got cut off, or it's too short.

Tap Continue to have your companion carry on. You can use it up to eight times in a row.

For longer replies, adjust Response Length under Chat Settings → Writing Style. You can also describe your preference in Custom Instructions.

Can I have more than one chat with the same companion?

Yes. Open Chat Settings and choose New conversation. Find your other chats under Conversations.

Add any important details again in the new conversation.

Can I chat with more than one character?

Yes. Open Chat Settings → Add Character, or use Groups Only on Discover to find group fantasies.

Use Choose speaker in the message bar to select who replies.

Adding a character permanently makes that conversation a group chat. More in Group Chats.

What's the difference between archiving, resetting, and deleting a chat?

  • Archive: Puts a conversation aside while preserving its memories.

  • Reset: Starts the conversation over and permanently deletes its memories.

  • Delete: Permanently removes the conversation. It cannot be recovered.

Copy any details you want to keep before resetting or deleting.

Companions

How do I edit or delete my companion?

Go to Profile → Companions and open your companion. Tap the … menu, then choose Edit Companion, Archive Character, or Delete Character.

Ethnicity, hair, eyes, and body type are fixed after creation. Age remains editable.

More in Editing and Managing Companions.

How do I keep my companion looking the same?

Use the same companion and keep your prompt consistent with their saved appearance. A prompt is the description you give the generator.

Check Additional Physical Traits, your selected customizations, and any reference image for conflicting details.

More in Creating a Companion and Image Generation.

How do I write a good companion or fantasy?

In Personality, describe the companion’s job, relationships, speech, and behavior. Put key facts first.

For example, “Mika uses dry humor to put people at ease” gives more direction than “Mika is funny.”

For a fantasy, use the greeting to establish the scene. Use Example Dialogue to demonstrate how the characters speak.

More in Creating a Companion and Fantasies.

Why is my companion still in review?

Public companions are reviewed before publication. Check the displayed status for updates.

If you need help with a pending submission, contact support with the companion’s name or link.

How do I report a companion?

Open Chat Settings and tap Report.

Images, video, and voice

How long can videos be?

Video generation is included in Ultimate.

With V3, choose 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 seconds. If Extend Video is available on your finished clip, choose one of the offered extension lengths.

Check the displayed price before generating or extending. More in Video Generation.

The image generator isn't following my prompt.

Start with a clear subject, outfit, action, and setting. Check that your customization tiles agree with the prompt.

On V3, write in plain sentences. On models with Icks, use that field to describe what you want left out.

Enhance can expand a rough idea. Review its additions before generating.

More in Image Generation and Customizations.

Why was my prompt or image flagged?

Content may be flagged when it falls under Nectar’s content restrictions. Filters consider meaning, not just individual words.

Review Content & Guidelines in the FAQ for the full rules. Do not try to bypass a block.

If you think a blocked message was flagged by mistake, tap Appeal. For removed content, email support@nectar.ai or open a ticket in #get-support-now.

Allow three to five business days for an appeal response.

My video or image is stuck. What do I do?

Check its status and your gallery before submitting the same request again. Generations run in the background while you chat or browse.

If an error repeats, stop retrying and contact support with the model, settings, exact error, and approximate time.

How do voice messages and calls work?

Voice messages play a companion’s reply as audio. Tap the voice chip beneath the reply.

Voice calls are live spoken conversations. Tap Call at the top of the chat and allow microphone access if prompted. Calls are charged by the minute, so check the displayed rate first.

To hear only dialogue, turn off Enable Narrator under Chat Settings → Speech.

Plans and credits

What's the difference between Pro and Ultimate?

Pro and higher plans support unlimited companion creation.

Ultimate adds features including long-term Memory, video generation, and voice chat.

Compare the current benefits on Plans & Pricing.

What uses credits?

Credits are the balance used for paid actions. These include:

  • Chat models with a displayed credit price.

  • Paid Memory options.

  • Voice messages beyond your included allowance and voice calls.

  • Custom-voice preview generation.

  • Enhance, V3 images, and V3 2K images.

  • Video generation and extensions.

Check the displayed price before a paid action.

If you were charged for an action that failed, open a ticket in #get-support-now. Include the action, approximate time, error, and balance change.

I paid, but my plan or credits aren't showing.

Refresh and confirm that you are signed into the account used for the purchase.

If the purchase still does not appear, open a ticket in #get-support-now. Include your receipt or transaction reference.

If a limit error does not match your displayed balance, include a screenshot of both.

Something's broken

Is Nectar down? My message failed to send.

One failed message does not establish an outage. Check our Discord for service updates.

Try refreshing, switching to Chrome, or temporarily disconnecting your VPN.

If “Internal Server Error” repeats after a large Personality edit, keep a copy and try a shorter description. Contact support if the error continues.

More in Troubleshooting and Getting Help.

How do I contact support?

Open a ticket in #get-support-now or email support@nectar.ai.

Include your username, plan, what happened, the exact error, and the approximate time. Add the companion or fantasy involved and what you have already tried.
